Ms Michelle Cheo is the CEO of Mewah Group. She is responsible for the formulation and execution of overall strategy of the Group, project execution and day-to-day operations. Ms Cheo joined the Group in 2003 and has been the leading force to get the Group listed on Singapore Exchange in 2010. Since then, she has further expanded the Group into various adjacency areas such as biodiesel, specialty fats and shipping. She is currently also looking into the group’s expansion into Indonesia and China. Prior to joining the Group, Michelle was working with ExxonMobil in Singapore and Baton Rouge, USA from 1997 - 2003. She graduated with a First Class Honours Chemical Engineering degree from Imperial College and has an MBA from INSEAD.
Michelle is a board member of the Singapore Chinese Orchestra. She is the Singapore Chapter Chair of the Young Presidents Organization 2020/2021 and has been involved in the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry Career Women’s Group since 2012. In 2016, she also participated in the sub-committee of the Future Economy on Future Corporate Capabilities and Innovation.
Mewah International is a global agri-business focused on edible oils and fats with refineries and processing facilities in Malaysia and Singapore and a worldwide marketing network. We are one of the largest palm oil processor in the world by capacity and produce a wide range of refined vegetable oils and fats principally from palm and lauric oil, and also other vegetable oils. Our operations are integrated throughout the edible oils and fats value chain, from the sourcing and processing of raw materials, to the packing, merchandising, shipping and distribution of our products. We also market and distribute a range of consumer products such as rice, soap and sweetened condensed milk. Our products are sold in more than 140 countries and we have an international sales team based in Singapore and Malaysia, and regional sales teams located in many countries including Australia, China, Turkey, Russia, India and Africa.
